ausEE Inc. is the national support and patient advocacy organisation representing Australians living with an eosinophil-associated disease such as eosinophilic gastrointestinal diseases (EGIDs) and eosinophilic oesophagitis (EoE). We extend our support and advocacy to people in New Zealand and their whānau.
We are a registered Australia wide charity whose mission is to improve the lives of those affected by eosinophilic diseases through providing support, evidence-based information, resources, advocacy and by campaigning to raise awareness and funds for research in Australia. Additionally, we serve the tube feeding community as EGIDs are conditions, among many, where people may require a feeding tube to ensure their nutritional needs are met.
Donations to ausEE Inc. over $2 are tax deductible. All donations received will help us to achieve our mission. Please Donate here.
Eosinophils are a type of white blood cell that play a role in certain medical conditions and immune responses. If a person has too many eosinophils without another known cause, it may be because of an eosinophil-associated disease (EAD). The eosinophils build up and can cause inflammation and tissue damage. The diagnosis depends on where in the body the eosinophils are found. Eosinophilic gastrointestinal diseases (EGIDs) occur when eosinophils are in increased numbers in the gastrointestinal tract.
